Palomar Star Lux™ Laser System

The Doctors at Alpha Surgical Group are excited to introduce to their practice one of the most advanced laser systems currently available, the Palomar StarLux™ IPL (Intense Pulse Light) Photofacials and fractionated non-ablative treatments are now available to obtain and maintain healthy looking skin.

For the treatment of skin discolorations such as brown spots from sun damage and general aging, or as a result of skin discolorations such as rosacea or melasma we recommend a series of the LUX G IPL Photofacials. Broken blood vessels and capillaries usually around the nose and cheek area are also successfully minimized with IPL Photofacials.

For the treatment of more severely damaged skin, such as acne scars, deep wrinkles and other traumatic markings, we recommend the use of what we like to call the next generation of the fractionated laser, the LUX 1540 with technology equivalent to Fraxel.

With minimal visible change to the surface of the epidermis this laser penetrates up to 1 mm, induces a renewal of skin cells, activated by new collagen development.

In most cases, both systems require multiple treatments with a 4-6 weeks interval. Although skin continues to improve over time, maintenance treatments should be considered bi-yearly.
